Market Town Initiatives in Cumbria

Penrith Market Town Initiative

Penrith MTI recently commissioned CN Research, as part of a joint agreement, to provide the market research element of a marketing plan for the Town. 
Our role was to provide a solid foundation of market intelligence and customer insights to inform and guide the Town's marketing strategy.

The research included a telephone survey of a random sample of 300 residents of the town; an in-depth telephone survey of the opinions, perceptions and suggestions of key stakeholders; and in-depth face-to-face interviews with Penrith TIC staff.  

The findings were summarised in the form of a SWOT analysis which was used in the development of the marketing strategy.  The report also recommended brand positioning strategies for the Town as well as  promotional material and web site development.

Other Market Town Initiatives in Cumbria

Our Senior Consultants have also been involved in the development of a comprehensive socio-economic self-completion survey  for the Longtown Market Town Initiative, covering issues such as employment, transport, training, environment and health.  The survey was distributed to residents living in Longtown and surrounding parishes. The results contributed to the Longtown Market Town Initiative Bid.

Our consultants also assisted with the design of the Brampton Joint Parish Plan questionnaire in November 2004, Advising on the methodology and carrying out the analysis. This socio-economic survey covered issues such as employment, further education, youth provision, tourism , transport and local facilities.
